Acoustic capsule / sound insulation box for shift linkage – reproduction, suitable for VW T4

The acoustic capsule for the shift linkage is no longer available for many vehicles of this type, although it makes an important contribution to noise reduction. In the area below the gear knob, sealing towards the road is limited by design, which can be noticeable as increased engine and gearbox noise.

This reproduction addresses exactly this point: the acoustic capsule is manufactured using 3D printing from robust, heat-resistant polycarbonate and forms a stable outer shell around the shift linkage. This significantly reduces sound transmission from the gearbox tunnel area.

If required, the inside of the capsule can additionally be fitted with suitable insulation materials to further increase sound absorption (insulation material not included). In addition to the acoustic effect, the design can also help minimise heat transfer from the tunnel area into the interior.

The result is a noticeably quieter driving feel, especially at higher speeds, as well as an overall more pleasant interior climate.
