Battery Disposal Information
In connection with the sale of batteries or the delivery of devices containing batteries, we are required to inform you of the following:
As an end user, you are legally obligated to return used batteries. You can return old batteries that we have or had in our range as new batteries free of charge at our shipping warehouse (shipping address). The symbols displayed on the batteries have the following meanings:
The crossed-out trash bin symbol means that the battery must not be disposed of with household waste.
Pb = Battery contains more than 0.004 mass percent lead
Cd = Battery contains more than 0.002 mass percent cadmium
Hg = Battery contains more than 0.0005 mass percent mercury.
Special Regulations for the Sale of Starter Batteries
In connection with the sale of vehicle batteries, we are obligated under § 10 BattG, if you are an end consumer, to charge a deposit of €7.50 including VAT per vehicle battery if you do not return an old vehicle battery at the time of purchasing a new one. The deposit is not included in the purchase price and is listed separately in the final price of the item.
If you return a used vehicle battery to us that we have or had in our range as a new battery according to § 9 BattG, we are legally obligated to take it back free of charge and refund the deposit.
If we have issued a deposit receipt under § 10 Abs. 1 Satz 3 BattG, the deposit refund upon return of the old vehicle battery depends on the return of this receipt.

Due to hazardous materials regulations, shipping used batteries by mail is not allowed.
Alternatively, old vehicle batteries can also be disposed of free of charge at recycling and waste collection centers. However, the deposit we collect is not refunded by these public recycling centers. You do have the option to receive confirmation of the battery return on the deposit receipt. Upon presenting this confirmed receipt, we will refund the battery deposit to you.
