Background

The original hinge strip cover as fitted on certain California versions of the VW T4 has not been available for many years. Especially on vehicles with pop-out windows, loss of these parts is a common issue during repair and restoration.

As part of the research, the following OE reference numbers were identified, which are used solely for comparison purposes:

• 701 070 423 – reference for hinge strip rear pop-out window
• 701 070 423 A – reference for hinge strip side long windows
• 701 070 423 C / 701 070 423 D – references for the associated covers

Reconstructed hinge strip cover

Based on original samples, dimensions and technical documentation, this hinge strip cover was completely redesigned and implemented as a modern reproduction. Manufacturing is carried out using a precise SLA process, resulting in high dimensional accuracy and clean surfaces.

The cover performs the same function as the original part: it provides defined guidance and coverage in the area of the window hinge strip and supports clean function as well as a cohesive look.
