VW T4 Fuel Filler Inner Sill Repair Panel

The newly developed reproduction of the VW T4 fuel filler inner sill has been completed and is about to enter prototype production. Almost all VW T4 models suffer from rust issues at this specific part, with the fuel filler inner sill often completely rusted through.
The exact cause of rust formation in this usually protected area is unclear, but it is suspected that rainwater flowing along the fuel cap and filler neck seal keeps the area constantly moist. Some VW T4 owners believe that fuel dripping onto the metal through the overflow gradually removes or damages the corrosion protection.
Regardless of the exact cause, it is crucial to eliminate rust in this area. The newly designed VW T4 fuel filler inner sill panel allows for the generous removal of rusted metal, creating a clean and accessible surface for welding. A hole for cavity sealing is also provided. The finished product is expected to be available from mid to late February 2024.
