Production of the VW T4 Shock Absorber Mount for the Doka Has Begun

The shock absorber mount for the VW T4 Doka is essential for preserving the vehicle and presents a significant challenge in reproduction. I have spared no expense or effort to finally start this project.

At first glance, the metal part may seem relatively unspectacular, but in reality, the VW T4 Doka shock absorber mount has cost me many hours on the computer and countless sleepless nights developing the tooling for its production.

The main challenge lies in the stamping process, which needs to shape the 5 mm thick steel sheet into all three axes without creating unintended deformations. Additionally, two small tools are required to form the inserted brackets, which are also 5 mm thick.

All three parts of the VW T4 Doka shock absorber mount are then welded together. In the second-to-last step, the thread is pressed in and welded. Finally, the VW T4 Doka shock absorber mount is powder-coated.

The expected release date is calendar weeks 39-40.
