Oil leaks in the area of the valve cover bolt (VDD) are among the common age-related issues on many VW T4 TDI engines. The cause is usually an original seal that has hardened or deformed over time, allowing oil to leak at the bolt area.

Engines particularly affected are those with engine codes ACV, AHY, AXG, AXL, AJT, AYC, AUF and AYY. Volkswagen originally did not provide an individually available seal for this area, but only replacement of the complete valve cover.

This independent reproduction specifically targets the bolt area and enables replacement of the seal without the costly replacement of the entire valve cover. The design is intended for a defined fit and can support the contact pressure in the area of the VDD bolt by design.
