Replacement insect screen for ventilation grille, suitable for Carbest sliding windows – VW T5 & T6, 136 cm², aluminium

This ventilation grille was developed specifically for sliding windows of the Carbest type and is suitable for VW T5, T6 and T6.1. The precisely manufactured contour ensures an accurate fit in the window frame. The base material used is 1.5 mm thick AlMg3 aluminium. The edge is folded inwards by 180° all around, creating a stable frame that supports permanently dimensionally stable installation.

After manufacturing, the grille is provided with a powder-coated surface. This reliably protects the component against mechanical influences and weathering such as moisture, road salt and UV radiation.

Ventilation is via flow-optimised louvres with a free air passage area of approx. 136 cm². They enable even air exchange while largely keeping out rain and spray water.

On the inside, a fine-mesh insect screen made of PETG plastic is integrated. It is fixed all around with high-quality 3M adhesive tape. This fastening allows for temperature-related material movement and makes it easier to replace the insect screen if required.

For this purpose, an accurate-fit replacement insect screen insert is available separately. The existing screen can be peeled off and the new insert installed using the adhesive area all around.

The ventilation grille is fastened using flush press-fit threaded studs. This keeps the outer surface smooth, prevents the window rubber from being compressed and provides a corrosion-protected connection.

Installation is simple: open the window, insert the ventilation grille, close the window. The component is used only when stationary and can be removed at any time without leaving residue.

With a weight of approx. 220 g, the ventilation grille offers a balanced combination of low weight, sturdy construction and functional ventilation – ideal for everyday use and travel.
